6 Simple Steps to Easily Price Your Printables on Etsy or Shopify

Find the sweet spot for pricing your printables.

One thing I often hear new Printable Shop owners ask is “How should I price my printables on Etsy (or Shopify)?”

Pricing your printables on Etsy or Shopify can be a challenging and frustrating task, but it is an important aspect of running a successful shop. In this post, we’ll explore some key factors to consider when determining the price for your printables on Etsy.

The 6 steps

  1. Know your costs: It’s important to have a clear understanding of the costs associated with creating and selling your printables. This includes things like the cost of graphics, fonts or templates, software or tools you use, fees for listing and sales and the time it takes to create the printable. Once you know these costs, you can start to build them into your pricing strategy.

  2. Consider the value of your printables: Think about the value that your printables offer to your customers. Is it a one-of-a-kind design that can’t be found anywhere else? Do they save your customers time or money? The more value your printables offer, the more you can charge for them.

  3. Research your competition: Take a look at what other sellers on Etsy are charging for similar printables. This will give you an idea of the going rate and help you determine if your prices are competitive.

  4. Lower price doesn’t mean more profit: While lowering your prices can temporarily boost your sales you will have to make up the difference by getting more sales. For example if you buy my Vintage Rose Resolution template for $27 and then sell the planner for $3 you will need to make 10 sales to make a profit of $3. Whereas, if you price it for $9 you will only need to make 4 sales to make a $9 profit.

  5. Offer discounts and bundles: Consider offering discounts or bundling your printables with other products to make them more appealing to potential customers. This can help drive sales and increase your overall revenue.

  6. Adjust your prices as needed: Don’t be afraid to experiment with different price points and see what works best for your shop. Keep an eye on your sales and use data to inform any price adjustments you make.

Ultimately, the price for your printables on Etsy or Shopify will depend on a variety of factors, including your costs, the value you offer, and the competition. By considering these elements and being open to adjusting your prices as needed, you can find the sweet spot that works for your shop.
